Vancouverite who donated C$400,000 to China's military met with Xi Jinping in Beijing in 2019 and 2023
Wang Dianqi (王典奇) campaigned for Liberal candidate Parm Bains during the 2021 election.
Wang Dianqi (王典奇), a Vancouver businessman who devotionally supports China’s military, met with China’s top leader Xi Jinping (习近平) in Beijing yesterday (May 8, 2023).
It was at the open ceremony of the 10th Conference for Friendship of Overseas Chinese Association (第十届世界华侨华人社团联谊大会), the same event attended by Weng Guoning (翁国宁), a Toronto businessman whose organization allegedly hosts China’s secret police station.
Standing in the second row of the group, Wang Dianqi could be clearly recognized at 1:02 of the news clip broadcasted by China Central Television (CCTV) yesterday.
Wang was also received by other CCP leaders, including Shi Taifeng (石泰峰), the head of the United Front Work Department (UFWD) of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), and Jiang Zuojun (蒋作君), the Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (全国政协, NCCPCC).

This is not the first time that Wang Dianqi met with Xi Jinping. About 4 years ago, on May 28, 2019, Wang also shook hands with Xi Jinping at a similar conference in the very same Great Hall of the People (人民大会堂), according to a report on Sohu.com (搜狐网), a major Chinese-language news portal in mainland China.
The Great Hall of the People (人民大会堂) is a state building located at the western edge of Tiananmen Square (天安门广场), used for top-level legislative and ceremonial activities in China.
Wei Chengyi, a Toronto businessman and the subject of investigations involving China’s political interference in Canada’s elections, was also in attendance at the 2019 conference. A group photo of Wei and Xi has been circulated on the internet for several years. Wei, along with Weng Guoning, are both Permanent Hournary Chairmen of the Canada Toronto Fuqing Business Association (CTFQBA,加拿大多伦多福清商会), an organization whose address matches that of one of China’s overseas police stations in Canada, according to a Safeguard Defenders report.
Wang Dianqi is the honourary chairman of the Canadian Alliance of Chinese Associations(CACA, 加拿大华人社团联席会), one of the top organizations with close links to Beijing.
Wang has repeatedly chosen Beijing’s side on many issues, including Hong Kong, Taiwan, the South China Sea, Winter Olympics 2022, Hauwei, and Meng Wanzhou. Wang claims to be a strong supporter of China’s army and has donated nearly 2 million Yuan (C$400,000) to the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of China.

During the 2021 federal election, Wang was seen campaigning for Parm Bains (白恩斯), the Liberal candidate for Steveston-Richmond East, a riding whose election was alleged to be the target of China’s interference.
According to a photo by thebreakers.news, Wang and his teammates were wearing T-shirts that read, ‘‘Your Vote Matters’, a slogan of the Chinese Canadians Goto Vote Association (CCGVA), an organization established by Ally Wang (王立), Ivan Pak (白巍) and Bao Daoping (鲍道平).
CCGVA and its co-founder Ivan Pak were seen interviewing Parm Bains at an online event during the 2021 election, at which Bains said he would not support a foreign agent registry.
Totally get why United Front members in Canada haven't been stripped of Canadian citizenship and deported as they seem to have immunity from RCMP, Canadian national security services and Liberal government. It would be a joke if it wasn't so serious.
Thanks for your great work. I think former French MP Buon Tan is in the second picture as well (front row, back turned to the camera) - another CCP plant in a western legislature.
